Mission / History
Capital Area Community Action Agency’s mission is to provide a comprehensive system of services and resources to reduce the detrimental effects of poverty, empower low-income citizens with skills and motivation to become self-sufficient, and improve the overall quality of their lives, and our community.
Created in 1965 to serve low-income residents of Leon County with childcare and transportation; today Capital Area CAA serves 7 counties and is the grantee agency for a variety of services established to assist low-income families become self-sufficient.
