Triumphs

Created in 1965 to serve low-income residents of Leon County with childcare and transportation; today Capital Area CAA serves 7 counties and is the grantee agency for a variety of services established to assist low-income families become self-sufficient.

Marva Williams (Leon County, Florida) completed her saving goal of $1000 making he eligible for matching funds of 4 to 1 from the agency's Individual Development Account Savings Program (IDA) to use toward her down payment and closing cost on her first home.

Ms. William's is the first participant to purchase a home through the agency's IDA Program!

CONGRATULATIONS Ms. Williams for your outstanding accomplishment in obtaining permanent housing!!

Jamia Bradley (Leon County, Florida) has been able to focus on her educational goals while maintaining her full-time employment position. As a result of Jamie's hard work, she was recognized during the Family Sufficiency Program Awards & Recognition Luncheon in December of 2007 for her dedication to the program and continual effort to attain the goal of economic independence.

Shanomia Francis


Shanomia Francis (Jefferson County, Florida) is being honored during a Family Sufficiency Program Awards & recognition Luncheon for her dedication to achieving her educational goals. With the help of the agency, Ms. Francis completed her AA in Criminal Justice, on February 25, 2005, continuing her education to receive her Bachelor's Degree with honors (Cum Laude) on July 13, 2007!
