Community Services Block Grant

The Community Services Block Grant is funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services and serves; Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, and Liberty Counties. The Florida Department of Community Affairs is the state recipient of funds responsible for disbursement of grants to local Community Action Agencies and other grantee agencies. The majority of the CACAA’s CSBG program funds are designated to our Family Self Sufficiency Program (FSSP), which provides comprehensive support services to families experiencing chronic financial crisis and who demonstrate a commitment to overcoming barriers for a higher quality, self sufficient lifestyle. CACAA staff work closely with families to develop a plan for reaching financial independence by targeting employment/business ownership, education, and housing. The FSSP has several components that address these targeted areas to assist families with meeting their self-sufficiency goals.
